For 1 people ()

  • 1 cup(s) boiling water
  • 1 cup(s) granulated sugar
  • 2 cup(s) fresh blueberries (or use 10 oz package froozen unsweetened blueberries, thawed & drained)
  • 2 tablespoon(s) cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoon(s) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 dash(es) grated fresh nutmeg
  • 1 dash(es) salt

Blueberry Sauce Directions

In saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg, and salt; gradually stir in the boiling water.

Cook and stir until mixture thickens and boils; cook two minutes more.

Add the blueberries and return to boiling.

Remove from heat and stir in the lemon juice. Makes three cups.

I make this sauce in advance and store in the fridge - just re-heat to serve. This sauce also freezes beautifully.
