I discovered La Cuisine in Alexandria, Virginia, a few years ago and ever since then have made that happy place my command central for cooking. I am always satisfied when I shop there. I have found delicious Café Semeuse Coffee, unique spice blends, exquisite chocolates, beautifully crafted French porcelain baking casseroles, temperature-refined Mauviel pots and pans from France, and, of course, shelves full of an excellent variety of Zursun beans. Nancy Pollard gave me perfect ideas for unusually handy cooking tools, a special baking powder, a crepe pan, and spices to give my son and his wife who love cooking adventures. On other occasions I have found a delightful selection of colorful child-sized cooking items, bowls, measuring spoons, and baking mitts, and a complete Beatrix Potter tea set in a picnic basket for my 7-year old twin granddaughters. La Cuisine is a source for expert advice about foods of the world and preparation techniques. New products and recipe ideas are always offered with warmth and humor. Try the delicious Les Confitures a l’ancienne Cocoa. You’ll be quickly in a holiday mood at Christmas-time when you see La Cuisine’s cookie cutters and food-themed ornaments!
